LSKD Karrinyup: A New Home on the West Coast

LSKD Karrinyup shopfront designed by Studio A—N, with textured grey curves, glazed mannequin displays, blue plinths and a campaign screen.

LSKD Karrinyup is a retail interior design project at Karrinyup Shopping Centre in Perth, Western Australia. Led by Alexa Nice, Studio A-N developed the store’s creative direction and interior design as part of LSKD’s retail network.

A sculptural shopfront, a restrained material palette and a flash of blue. Studio A—N’s design for LSKD Karrinyup brings a distinct architectural presence to the brand’s growing retail network.

A store begins before you step inside. At Karrinyup, the threshold does much of the talking: a textured grey frontage, a curved glazed display and an open entrance that pulls the shop floor into view. It gives LSKD a recognisable face within the shopping centre, with enough depth and scale to hold its own.

The public grand opening took place on Saturday 19 September 2026 at Karrinyup Shopping Centre, Perth. LSKD’s opening programme brought together product swaps, new releases, local businesses, a live DJ and community movement challenges. The launch put people at the centre of the space from day one.

An entrance with presence

The shopfront balances a substantial architectural frame with transparency. The curved glass display softens the transition into the store while keeping the mannequins and product visible from the mall. Blue display plinths give the frontage a sharp point of colour against the textured grey surfaces.

A large campaign screen sits within the shopfront composition. Its changing imagery brings movement to a deliberately solid frame, connecting the physical store with the people and performance behind the brand.

Material, reflection, colour

Inside, metal fixtures give the product a clear structure. The quieter background lets the activewear carry colour, with blue returning at selected moments rather than covering every surface. That balance matters: the store has a strong identity while remaining a useful setting for collections that will continue to change.

Beneath the illuminated “ENJOY THE JOURNEY” message, an arched mirror doubles as a community noticeboard. Handwritten events bring the local programme into view, making space for the people and activities around the store.

One brand, different places

Karrinyup continues Studio A—N’s work with LSKD, following Armadale and Commercial Bay. The aim is to develop a retail language with enough consistency to be recognised and enough flexibility to respond to each location.

For this store, that language is expressed through the threshold, the display structures and the relationship between robust finishes and precise colour. Each element has a job, from drawing people in to keeping the product easy to read.

The opening is a milestone. The more interesting test happens afterwards: how the space feels on an ordinary visit, how people move through it and whether it becomes somewhere they want to return.
